PAKENHAM’s Toomuc Reserve will have its boundaries tested like never before this Sunday when Cricket Victoria’s Statewide Twenty20 Cup comes to town.
Victorian cricket is split into 16 regions – eight country and eight metropolitan – and four clubs from the South East Country Region, Eildon Park (Ferntree Gully and District Cricket Association), Kooweerup (West Gippsland Cricket Association), Pines (Mornington Peninsula Cricket Association) and Woori Yallock (Yarra Valley Cricket Association) will do battle for the right to represent Region 8 at the quarter-final stage of the competition.
The eventual winners of the country and metro competitions will meet head on in the cup final to be held at the home of cricket… the iconic MCG.
This Sunday’s bash-fest will commence at 11am with Eildon Park taking on Woori Yallock on the front oval, with the local boys from Kooweerup matching up with Pines on the back oval, which will then host the final at 2.30pm.
The Pakenham Cricket Club will be running a full canteen and bar on the day with a DJ playing music to welcome the batsmen to the crease.
