Accident-prone

ANOTHER month, another car accident on the Dalmore and Manks Road intersection. Living 200 metres from this intersection for the last four and a half years, I have seen too many accidents and injuries as a result of collisions on this part of our road system. What does it take to notify drivers that a give way sign is approaching as you travel down Dalmore Road? There are yellow painted speed strips for 50 metres, an overhead orange light at night and signage but the accidents just keep occurring. VicRoads needs to investigate what is needed to stop the pain and anguish caused by drivers sailing straight through and colliding with vehicles on Manks Road, who feel unrealistically safe in the knowledge that they have right of way.
Today a touring group of French visitors were flipped onto their side in their hire vehicle and left dazed, scraped and confused after colliding with another vehicle at this intersection. I hope the driver of the car is recovering and lay no blame on either party involved, other than to say that there must be an inherent problem with visibility or adequate signage.
Please drive carefully at this intersection because there is something seriously wrong when an accident occurs so frequently at the same place.
Debbie Hobson,
Dalmore.
