MORE great news came from the stellar swims of Casey TigerSharks’ backstroke pair Josh Beaver and Matson Lawson – with the duo gaining automatic selection for the Australian team at the Pan Pacific Championships.
The TigerSharks backstroke dynamos will finish up their Commonwealth Games responsibilities in Glasgow, Scotland before heading to the Gold Coast to compete in the Pan Pacific Championships from 21-25 August.
The best swimming nations in the world including the USA, Canada and Japan will be hungry for glory at the Pan Pacs, with the event to be held at the newly refurbished, state-of-the-art Gold Coast Aquatic Centre – which will also host the swimming and diving at the 2018 Commonwealth Games.
Mitch Pratt is also on the cusp of gaining selection to the Australian Pan Pacs team, provided he can swim an A-qualifying time at the Glasgow Commonwealth Games.
Meanwhile the best junior TigerSharks took to the pool at the Sydney Aquatic Centre this week for the Swimming Australia Age Championships.
