Police chase

A man lead police on a three hour chase from Dandenong to Swan Reach with reports the man stole a number of cars, crashing at least one before being apprehended at about 2:40pm.

Update 2:44pm

Victoria Police have secured the vehicle 1km east  Swan Reach. A man has been arrested by the Special Operations Group. No injuries reported.

Update 1:30pm

One of the people involved in the police chase from Dandenong has been apprehended after the car crashed into a Traralgon home. A Melbourne radio station reported the female passenger has been apprehended but the man who is believed to be armed with a shotgun has taken off in another vehicle.

MORE than a dozen unmarked police cars have raced through Pakenham town centre in the last few moments allegedly following a car with two passengers.

It’s believed police were called to an address at Rogers Street, Dandenong about 12.15pm where a man was refusing to leave the premises.It’s understood the man and a woman then fled the scene in a vehicle to Ferntree Gully and then on to the Pakenham area.

The Pakenham Gazette has been contacted by a number of people who have seen the swarm of police cars and a helicopter circling the Pakenham area.

Latest reports have the chase headed towards the Latrobe Valley.
