A PAKENHAM dad said he was happy to be on the receiving end of some judgmental looks last week.
“Last night I picked my son up from after school care. He was riding home so we decided to find a safer route for him to ride with fewer roads to cross and I decided to drive slowly beside him to make sure he was okay,” said Dave, the Lakeside dad of 10-year-old Joshua.
“It was awesome to see the number of other motorists who slowed and stop to check out what was going on and make sure that I wasn’t a stranger and wasn’t following him to do him harm.”
Though some people may have initially cast the caring dad as a danger or threat, he is happy to know kids’ safety is a high priority in the community.
“This gives me so much peace of mind to know that people we live with are looking out for the safety of our kids. Great work Lakeside residents,” he said.
