A PAKENHAM man stabbed multiple times in his own home was airlifted to
The Alfred hospital in a critical condition over the weekend.
Cardinia Crime Investigation Unit’s Detective Senior Sergeant Trevor Smith said the 33-year-old man was left in a “life-threatening condition” after sustaining multiple stab wounds at his Victoria Place home at 10.45pm on Sunday 29 March.
A neighbour, who did not wish to be named, said he heard the man’s screams from inside his home which sent him rushing onto the street to help.
“He was covered from head to toe with blood screaming and saying he could not breathe because of the blood in his lungs,” the Victoria Place resident claimed.
“As we were waiting for emergency crews, his bleeding was very serious so we got towels and applied some pressure to his wounds.”
According to the neighbour, the man’s front door was broken in before the attack.
“They went to his house, ripped off his wire door and stabbed him twice and left him for dead,” he claimed.
Det Sen Sgt Smith said the matter was under investigation by police.
“Police are speaking to a number of people who were present at the time,” he said.
The Alfred said the 33-year-old Pakenham man remained in a critical condition.
The man’s neighbour, who had only lived at his Victoria Place home for over a month, described crime in the street as “disgusting”.
“This would be the worst street I’ve lived in for violence,” he said.
