Anzac Day – just carry on

Anzac100 Years 375x120

LOCAL Anzac events will not be affected by the terror raids in nearby suburbs.
Counter-terrorism officers raided properties in Eumemmering, Narre Warren, Hallam and Hampton Park, arresting five young men.
Police allege a plot to attack officers during centenary Anzac Day ceremonies on Saturday.
Hallam man, Sevdet Ramadan Besim, 18, was charged with conspiracy to commit a terror attack.
A Hampton Park man has been held without charge under anti-terror laws, while three others have been released.
Pakenham RSL president Gary Elliott urged people to treat this year’s commemorations the same as they would any other year.
“We have had no inkling of any issues like that in this area,“ he said.
“I’m comfortable it will be going ahead.”
Mr Elliott said police would be attending the Pakenham service, but not in any greater numbers than in previous years.
“I know the police will be attending, but it should be the same as any other year.”
