A DRIVER slammed into a stationary vehicle and sped away following what appeared to be an argument in Pakenham on Thursday morning.
Witnesses told the Gazette that the driver of a dark green statesman had pulled up on the side of Racecourse Road, approaching the Bald Hill Road roundabout, about 9am on 23 April.
The man in his twenties exited the sedan, crossed the road and shouted at and tried to grab a woman who was walking there.
Witness Liz Wade was completing a site investigation for a proposed development just a few metres away.
She said the woman pushed away the man, who was wearing a hoodie, and ran.
“He was trying to get hold of her but she was knocking his hand away,” Ms Wade said.
She said the man ran back to his car, got in and sped up onto the grass on the roadside.
Witness Damon had parked his four-wheel drive on Racecourse Road at the Bald Hill Road roundabout after witnessing the altercation, his instinct to get out and help.
The sedan fishtailed and slammed into his vehicle, spun 360 degrees, mounted the roundabout and sped down Racecourse Road towards Princes Highway.
Witness Danial Power said the car had no plates and evidence of previous damage.
