HE’S conquered time travel and the apocalypse, now local film-maker Glenn Triggs has set himself a new challenge.
The Pakenham film-maker has recently finished the script for his seventh feature film; a family adventure movie entitled ‘The Comet Kids.’
The film follows the story of Lucas, a teenager who goes searching for a comet that passes through his home town.
He hopes the journey will bring him closer to his late father, who had discovered the meteor years earlier.
Casting has already begun for the film and Trigg is currently preparing to shoot a trailer, which will then be used to promote the film and raise the money required to shoot it.
The trailer will be shot at Mount Burnett Observatory, near Emerald.
Glenn has always had a passion for film, and has spent his career writing and directing.
“A friend of mine got a video camera at the start of high school and we started making videos together,” he said.
“That was what sparked it all. After that I knew this was what I wanted to do.”
Glenn’s most recent work is somewhat different to his usual genre, having previously produced films such as ‘Apocalyptic’, ‘Cinemaphobia’ and ‘The Follow’.
He enjoyed the task of writing a film for children.
“My wife initially suggested it, I didn’t really know how it would come about,” he said.
“I came up with this idea about a comet, and we went from there. It took me almost a year to write the script.”
He describes the film as “fun and full of adventure.”
The Comet Kids is set to be released in 2016. It will be produced by Glenn’s production company, ‘Dark Epic Media’.
