Join to fight ignorance

The Abbott government will commit another $450 million dollars to fight radicalisation, we read.
We need to know what it is we are fighting.
Islam is not a political movement but a religion that we need to know more about.
What is it that drives young people to think they are doing what their version of God wants?
In the Koran we learn that our lives here are very short, a testing ground for everlasting life.
Unless we can enter paradise we will endure endless torment which is described in detail.
To guarantee entry we can become martyrs, dying while fighting for Allah regardless of whatever sins we have committed in the past.
There are many references to killing non-believers as they do not deserve to live.
The aim is for the whole word to become part of the Caliphate.
The words of Jesus Christ are disregarded where they contradict ancient Jewish teaching, loving your enemy instead of knocking out his eye is one commonly quoted.
The Samaritans and Jews were bitter enemies, how could a Samaritan be expected to help a Jew?
Jon Faine on the ABC often quotes the cruelty of the Crusaders but does not explain what the Moslems were doing in Jerusalem or how they got there.
He seems not to be aware that the books of the New Testament supersede the writings in the Old.
Ignorance is hard to fight.
Moslem leaders need to join with people of other religions, whose taxes are funding the anti-radicalisation, and discuss what is being taught to would-be terrorists, where and why. Then we can join the fight.
Instead of leaving it to politicians we should all help, and soon.
