Thumbs Up, Thumbs Down

Thumbs Down
To Treasurer Joe Hockey while talking about his Budget for saying too much. He said: “Petrol is the cheapest it’s been in a long while” so, of course, the oil companies, just to show who really runs the economy, straight away put it up 20 cents! Hey Joe when something’s too good to be true … say nothing!

Thumbs Up
To the opening of the Koo Wee Rup bypass!

Thumbs Down
To the blue unmarked police wagon standing stationary at the red lights in Lakeside Boulevard on Saturday at 1.45pm with its siren blazing – but no visible flashing lights. It didn’t appear to be going anywhere! But its siren balked the heavy cross traffic on the Princes Highway so badly it created a three car collision. It could have easily been six cars but a few of us through heavy swerving and hard braking luckily avoided the carnage. Following the collision the police car remained at the lights siren blazing apparently oblivious to the mayhem and … still going nowhere. Maybe they were on the phone – Officer in charge please check their phone records.

Thumbs Up
To all the volunteers who helped with the serving of refreshments at the blood bank last week. You are great.

Thumbs Down
To Cardinia shire for making me get a plumber’s report to state that their nature strip trees are blocking my stormwater discharge. Blind Freddie could see the problem. Their trees are my problem apparently – not happy.
