LIFELONG Pakenham resident Minnie Farrell has turned 100.
With her birthday on 25 June, the celebrations went on for a few days.
She’s loved sports throughout her life, and played tennis and bowls for Pakenham.
A loyal Essendon fan, she has always loved watching the AFL on television, along with tennis and cricket.
She’s a sportswoman through and through and used to travel to Maroochydore in Queensland for the winter.
Of her seven brothers and sisters, Minnie is the last one left, and is ecstatic to reach 100, but doesn’t quite believe it.
She’s young at heart and her daughter Joan thinks she’s doing well.
“To look at her, she looks marvellous,” she said.
“There’s hardly a wrinkle on her face.
“She does have to be careful because she’s a bit rickety on the old pins.”
Otherwise, her health seems to be going well.
Her family of two children, five grandchildren, two great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren were there to celebrate the milestone with her at McGregor Gardens.
Some family members travelled from Perth and Queensland to be there on her special day.
