A CATANI treasure contacted the Gazette this week with a special message for her loyal customers.
Marj Gould was recently featured in a Pakenham Gazette story about towns with small populations being home to some of Australia’s happiest people.
Marj said she loved the atmosphere in her small town.
“Everyone here is so community minded. It’s just like one big extended family.”
An employee of Bayles General Store, Marj wrote to us this week to say she was retiring.
“I wanted a way to thank all the customers that I have come to know over the years and thank them for all their support that they have given me, and the friendship and kindness shown towards me,” Marj said.
“We have had some great chats over coffee and some sad times as well. We have shared stories and jokes and it has been an absolutely amazing experience.
“It is with sadness that I have resigned from my employment, for my door is always open, and I am sure I will see you all out and about in the community.”
