Trainwreck is no vehicle

Trainwreck (MA15+)
Starring: Amy Schumer
FEAR not – Trainwreck is not just an Amy Schumer vehicle.
In fact, this film is so laugh out loud funny, I was amazed Judd Apatow had anything to do with it.
Be warned, though, it’s the filthiest comedy since Ted brought his special brand of smut to the screen.
Schumer stars as a junior magazine writer, interviewing a sports doctor who becomes her love interest. That’s about it for the plot.
The real fun here comes with the characters, the gags, and Schumer’s especially smutty and self-deprecating humour.
She’s got a waspish tongue – as anyone who’s seen her appearing on celebrity roasts will attest – and the script is very, very funny. Things will get crude.
The always weird Tilda Swinton puts in a star turn as Schumer’s boss.
The offbeat redhead is unrecognisable under a spray tan and big hair – a loathsome creature who steals the show.
With sport star cameos and a really pleasing feel about it – despite the tons of smut – Trainwreck is shaping as the comedy of the year.
Stop reading this and go see it. As your attorney, I advise you to use the money you saved by not seeing Mission Impossible 28.
