NETBALL
NARRE WARREN
WITH four teams straight through to the week two semi finals, the black and white army travelled to Berwick and ROC to cheer on our five other teams contesting week one finals. The 17 Red girls took the points in wet weather against Beaconsfield, setting up a semi final rematch against ROC. The two 13s teams have a second chance after losses to Doveton and ROC and now face a must win semi final. After building a strong lead D Grade, fell just short against Cranbourne and will need to utilise their second chance this week. Saturday saw the 13 Red, with one player away, another possibly out for the season and one carrying an injury, leaving them down to seven! To the girls’ credit they never gave up and tried the whole game, eventually going down by 13. In their first final the 13 White girls got off to a good start, going goal for goal with ROC. The tall opposition goalers were a challenge and the lead stretched in ROC’s favour in the second half. With a week of finals’ experience, the 13 White girls will come out better and stronger in their semi final.
17 Red began with bang, winning the first quarter 8 – 1. Strong defensive pressure and a determined effort to rebound provided plenty of opportunities for NW. Goalers, Gabby and Kealeigh combined well in the circle. The team will continue to work on minimising errors and are looking forward to the challenge of ROC in the Semi Final. Final Score: 31 – 16
The 17 White girls faced the challenge of an elimination final, knowing they had to win to keep their season alive. The team took on the challenge by turing around a six goal deficit to win by two goals. The girls kept their heads up, persisting until the final whistle in a nail biter.
D grade played out an intense final going goal for goal with Cranbourne for most of the match. A persistent Cranbourne wore away Narre’s lead to win by five goals. The girls will come out string in their must win semi in week two of finals. Thanks to juniors, Hayley Rae and Kealeigh Brown who joined the D grade bench, cheering loudly!

Week Two of finals will see A, B and C Grades and the 15 Red girls hit the court for their first final. After finishing top of the ladder and earning the week off, now is their chance to earn their spot in the grand final. Our 17 Red girls get another chance at the dominating ROC side who are undefeated. On Sunday 13 Red, 13 White, 17 White and D Grade face must win semi finals to earn their place in the reliminary finals.

BEACONSFIELD
Grand Final – Beaconsfield Blue 13-5 (83) d NarreWarren 1-1 (7)
Captain: Daniel Van Der Werf, Vice Captain: Jake Derham.
Nervous anticipation by all. Even with a previous win against Narre Warren Beacy didn’t rest on their laurels. The game started with a clean Beacy first touch and we dominated possession all game. The 100 per cent commitment from every player, coaching and support from all in connected to our team during the season came to fruition in this grand final win. The Holm Park ground was dewy and the ball slippery but that didn’t stop our boys, they tapped it, kicked it, handballed it and marked it, they used the football and moved it down the ground without hesitation just as they had been trained. Jarra Davis, Patrick Ward, Lachlan Chisholm carried out their pre game instructions without fault. Hugh Berreen’s accuracy added 4 goals. Nicholas Riordan was exceptional in half forward, Bernie Underwood set up several goals, Damon Boland picked up the dewy ball in midfield and broke from the pack over and over. Riley Browne showed strength with his shepherding and converted play into two goals. Jaidyn Caligiuri, Charlie De Prinse, Joel Spellman, Archie Thompson Hood, Keanan Preece and Ben Fogarty provided our outstanding and dependable solid base for the team, Daniel Peart (Boomer) a great game, Zachary Stewart shepherded extremely well. Matthew Russell and Ben Kelly both took great marks to secure a goal each for the team. Zachary Ewert such a big kicker for us and Jake Derham so strong.
Congratulations Beacy Blue!
