There were approximately 400 export and 600 young cattle penned representing a decrease of 60 head week-on-week at the Victorian Livestock Exchange this week.
The usual buying group was present and operating selectively in a cheaper market.
Quality was mixed with a plainer offering of trade cattle and a better run of heavy weight manufacturing steers.
The limited selection of vealers eased 10 cents per kilogram.
Yearling trade steers sold from firm to three cents easier while the medium weight feeder steers slipped eight cents.
Yearling heifers to the trade fell 13 cents to 22 cents with quality an issue but soft demand playing a role.
Grown steers eased 13 cents to 14 cents while the bullocks were back up to 17 cents.
Heavy weight friesian manufacturing steers slipped 10 cents with the crossbred portion back 16 cents.
The vealers sold mostly from 290 cents to 340 cents.
Yearling trade steers made between 307 cents and 330 cents.
Yearling heifers suited to the trade sold between 282 cents and 318 cents.
Feeder steers made from 262 cents to 317 cents with the heifer portion from 256 cents to 311 cents.
Grown steers sold from 290 cents to 325 cents.
Bullocks made between 288 cents and 316 cents.
