IT’S out with the old and in with the new.
Cardinia Shire Council is taking on a major revamp project, replacing township entrance signs starting in those in the Pakenham area.
Mayor Leticia Wilmot said the new fresh look signs will replace old, worn out signs created more than 15 years ago.
“First impressions count and we want our township entrances to leave a good one! We will continue to do the best we can to enhance the Cardinia Shire image and community pride across the shire and these new signs are part of that aim,” she said.
“Our community will start to see the new-look signs in more places as the replacement program rolls out across the shire.”
The signs include council’s logo, unveiled in 2014.
“The new signs have a great design which promotes Cardinia Shire as a progressive, responsive and innovative municipality and, of course, the striking bird which also features in the council logo.”
The replacement program will start in Central Ward in October followed by Ranges Ward and Port Ward. It is expected all township signs in Cardinia Shire will be replaced within two years.
