Only 32 heifers were offered with less good heavy pens on offer, steers averaged much the same as last sale, restockers are hesitant with the dry, and lack of condition in the lighter pens and eased the steer average, a few more veal were penned, and sold to firm demand for the better pens.
Forty-five bullocks made to 295 cents, back 16 cents and averaged 272.9 cents, back 15 cents, 32 heifers made to 287 cents, back 2 cents and averaged 241.5 cents, back 25 cents.
Sixty-eight steers made to 305 cents, back 10 cents, and averaged 271.9 cents, back 14 cents, and 381 vealers made to 327.2 cents, up five cents and averaged 281.5 cents, up four cents.
On Thursday there were fewer cows yarded but extra bulls which sold to stronger demand.
With 56 on offer the top was up 23 cents to 319.6 cents and averaged nine cents better at 268 cents.
Bullocks numbered 30 and made to 275 cents to average 254.6 cents and 462 cows topped at 252.6 cents, back 18 cents, and averaged eight cents easier at 203.4 cents, with the yard average back two cents to 215.6 cents.
