PAKENHAM Consolidated School was briefly put into lockdown this morning after a man was spotted loitering around the school grounds.
Just after 11am, the man was spotted first near Toomuc Creek and then around the perimeter of the school.
The school principal made the decision to put staff and students into lockdown, meaning gates were quickly closed and staff and students were locked into the buildings.
A police spokesperson said a unit attended the scene but could not find any sign of the man, and the school was re-opened about half an hour later.
A text message was sent out to inform parents about the lockdown.
