POLICE stumbled upon a Pakenham and Cranbourne man allegedly involved in a weekend crime spree during an investigation into a separate matter in residential Pakenham streets.
In the early hours of Sunday 7 February, police were out making inquiries about an unrelated matter in Pakenham, when they came across a car parked in the front yard of a nearby home.
Pakenham police Senior Sergeant Nathan Prowd said the car, believed to be stolen with false registration plates, was reportedly involved in a Kingston crime spree the previous day.
A 20-year-old Pakenham man and a 23-year-old Cranbourne man were taken to the Dandenong police station for questioning.
They were charged with theft of a motor vehicle, armed robbery and burglary.
