TWO women have been freed after a “serious” rollover crash that left the driver trapped in the dented vehicle at Nar Nar Goon.
The grey Astra was travelling in a southerly direction along Dore Road, about 11am, when it rolled and spun, coming to a halt on the nature strip on the opposite side of the dirt road.
One door on the right side of the car was flung off during the crash.
The driver was trapped for about 40 minutes and required assistance in exiting the vehicle, emergency workers said.
She was carried onto an ambulance stretcher.
Acting Sergeant Paul Butcher said both the female driver and passenger appeared to be in their twenties and were in a stable condition.
“The passenger was walking around and OK. The driver was speaking coherently and has been conveyed to the Dandenong Hospital as a precaution,” Sgt Butcher said.
“They were both a bit rattled.
“We suspect the crash was caused by a driver error. The incident will be investigated by the Cardinia Highway Patrol unit.”
Stephen Monro of Pakenham SES said this was the third serious road incident the Pakenham Road Rescue unit had been called to this week.
Police, SES, ambulance and CFA crews attended the incident.
