Bean votin’

MUFFIN Break’s unofficial election poll has revealed a shift in opinion in the La Trobe electorate.
The Bean Poll, which has accurately predicted the 2007, 2010 and 2013 Australian federal elections, has seen a turn of events in finding the Coalition in the lead with 67 per cent in the third week after Labor held 46 per cent in the first week.
With every coffee purchase, Muffin Break customers have been given a coffee bean to cast a vote in one of four cylinders labelled ‘Coalition’, ‘Labor’, ‘Greens’ or ‘Other’.
Nationally, the Bean Poll has predicted a Coalition and Labor tie at 34 per cent, followed by the Greens at 15 per cent and ‘Other’ at 17 per cent.
At the previous federal election, Jason Wood claimed the La Trobe seat by a four per cent margin.
