A TEENAGER has been surrounded by ‘tradesmen’ and robbed in broad daylight in Berwick.
The pack of men demanded the youth victim’s home keys and address after encircling him and pillaging through his bag.
However, a Good Samaritan interjected, putting a stop to the intimidating episode.
Police investigating the crime have released pictures of the group of men who carried out the pack attack in the hope they might be identified.
About 12.40pm on Friday 3 June, the teenage victim was walking with friends along a grassed area behind the fast-food outlets on Clyde Road, Berwick.
They observed a group of unknown young men in tradie clothing nearby.
They were approached by one of the males who tried speaking to them, however the group ignored him and continued walking.
The victim stopped and talked to the male, and was immediately surrounded by the other males who then forced him to open his bag.
One of the men then removed several items from the victim’s bag.
The group then went on to demand the victim’s house keys and home address.
It is thought that information was not provided to the offenders due to a disruption caused by a Good Samaritan.
A nearby tradesman, who was not involved in the incident, intervened, saying, “that’s enough,” and the group of males allowed the victim to leave.
Police have released CCTV images of the men wanted in relation to the robbery.
They are also appealing for the tradesman who helped the victim to come forward and assist in the investigation.
Anyone with information in relation to the identity of any of the males or the incident is asked to contact Senior Constable Luke Smith at Casey Crime Investigation Unit on 9705 3114 or Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
