OFFENDERS have gone to the effort to dig out a mailbox concreted into the ground in Officer.
The timber panel letterbox was excavated from the Carnegie Street, Officer home sometime between Saturday 24 and Sunday 25 September while the owners were away, according to police.
They have not received similar reports of any other letterboxes being removed in the area, but urge anyone who is victim to such property damage to report it.
“People don’t tend to report these things occurring, but the fact this one had to be actually dug out is interesting,” Pakenham police Senior Sergeant Graeme Stanley said.
Anyone with information is urged to contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
