Wild winds forecast

A SEVERE weather warning for damaging winds has been issued for West and South Gippsland.
The Australian Bureau of Meteorology has predicted that a strong cold front will approach western Victoria on Thursday night 20 October and cross the state on Friday.
Damaging winds averaging 60km/h to 70km/h with peak gusts of around 90km/h are expected to develop Thursday evening, spreading eastwards overnight and early Friday morning.
Pakenham SES has advised residents to move cars under cover or away from trees, secure or put away loose items around the house, yard and balconies, and keep clear of fallen power lines.
