A GROUP working to provide all-abilities sailing opportunities in Lakeside have made an urgent plea for funding.
Lakeside Sailing Club has already received half the funding they need to launch the floating for disabled sailors, but still have a way to go.
Club commodore Stewart Baker said they needed just over $10,000 more to make the concept a reality.
The proposed jetty will be set on floating pontoons to allow for a portable hoist to enable sailors with physical disability to get into boats.
The club held a fund-raising sausage sizzle at Bunnings in Pakenham on Saturday 22 October to help raise the funds.
The club will celebrate Discover Sailing Day at lakeside lake from 10am on Sunday 6 November.
Anyone who wishes to donate to the project can get in touch with the club via Facebook.
