LOCAL milliners put their craft on show at the inaugural Milliner Showcase night at Pakenham’s Melbourne Cup tour race meet on Thursday 20 October.
Beaconsfield milliner Erin Tucker was among those exhibiting, as well as Ashley Graham, Sharon Schruers and Belinda Wouters.
“It was a fabulous evening of night racing with balmy weather and many in attendance to see and hold the prestigious Melbourne Cup,” Ms Tucker said.
“Beautiful hats and headpieces were on display from all four milliners with the wonderful opportunity to discuss styling and current trends for this spring carnival.
“Ladies flocked to the showcase, and the pop-up stalls were buzzing with excitement. It was wonderful for women to be able to try on hats and fascinators.
“It was a sensational opportunity for those who visited the showcase to meet the milliners and plan out future creations for all upcoming millinery needs.”
Due to the night’s success, plans were underway for more millinery showcase events held in conjunction with the Pakenham Racing Club next year such as fashion shows and high tea.
