Driven to distraction

A leisurely drive through Harkaway turned sour when Google Maps insisted that a driver take a ‘shortcut’ via Cardinia Creek.
A driver was travelling south along Chadwick Road when the Google Maps app became convinced that the best route to a winery in Upper Beaconsfield was to turn left into the creek.
There were no roads in its vicinity and the persistent robotic instruction to “turn left” added to the frustration of the situation.
The irritated driver has warned residents to be wary of the glitch and wondered if others had experienced similar troubles when using Google Maps to navigate through the area.
