Sunday 19 March should have marked the end of the outdoor pool season for Pakenham and Garfield residents … but Cardinia Shire Council and Aligned Leisure have announced opening hours for an extra weekend.
While Friday 17 March is still the last weekday of this year’s season, rain, hail or shine Pakenham and Garfield pools will be open for one last weekend on Saturday 25 March and Sunday 26 March, from 12-7pm.
Cardinia Shire Council’s Team Leader Recreation and Facilities Heather Callahan said the extension provided a good opportunity for people to stay cool in the hot weather and make use of the pools one last time this season.
“We’re experiencing an unusually hot month this March. By extending the operating hours at these outdoor pools we hope to provide a haven for community members to stay cool in the heat,” Ms Callahan said.
Those making the most of the summery weather are reminded to be SunSmart while outdoors.
