The Bunyip and District Agricultural Show will not be held on a Saturday this year. Instead it will be held at the Bunyip Showgrounds and Recreation Reserve on Sunday 26 March.
Agricultural society treasurer Phillipa Densey said the day change was due to clashes with other events, but people could still expect the same traditional country agricultural show that Bunyip has been hosting for almost 120 years.
“We’ll have the horses, dog, and alpacas, there’ll be a few rides for the kids, pony rides and an animal farm,” Ms Densey said.
She said the miniature goats and donkeys had been “a great hit” in past years.
Showgoers will also able to see a wide variety of exhibits including art, preserves, cookery, needlework, craft, cut flowers and shrubs, dahlias, floral art, farm and garden produce and photography.
There will also be a range of cuisines on offer on the day with Italian, Greek, German, Asian and Australian barbecue food trucks in attendance.
Tickets will be available at the gate. The ticket price for children, students and seniors is $5.
Adult tickets are $10 and family (two adults and up to 4 children) tickets are $20.
The gates open at 9am.
Those interested in exhibiting should visit the website www.bunyipshow.org.au for more details.
