Locals are invited to have a rockin’ time this Good Friday at a retro-inspired fund-raiser.
Rockin’ Suzies’ Good Friday Appeal returns for its 10th year, and the family friendly fund-raiser is shaping up to be an event not to be missed.
Dads and car enthusiasts won’t want to miss the vintage car, bike and truck show, while a retro market with vintage, rockabilly and pin-up clothing and homewares is sure to catch the eyes of women.
For the kids there will be a meet-and-greet with Easter Bunny, face painting, pony rides and a jumping castle.
Organiser Susan Dodson said she was aiming big this year, with a fund-raising target of $20,000.
“We have been close in the past, but have never quite made it,” Ms Dodson said.
Ms Dodson started the fund-raiser after being approached by local bands interested in supporting the appeal.
She hasn’t looked back since.
Also scheduled for this up-coming event is a V8 supercar simulator, 10 rock and roll bands and a chance to win a children’s Harley Davidson bike.
“We really have something for everyone,” Ms Dodson said.
Rockin’ Suzie’s Good Friday Appeal will be held on 14 April at the Berwick Leisure Centre, Manuka Road, Berwick, from 10am to 10pm.
Cost is $15 per adults; children under 18 are free.
All money goes to the Royal Children’s Hospital.
