Truck driver and unborn baby escape smash

A Tynong truck driver has had a lucky escape following a car crash in Hallam which saw a pregnant women undergo an emergency Caesarean.
The 50-year-old man’s truck and a car carrying a 52-year-old woman and a 24-year-old pregnant woman, both from Hallam, collided at the Princes Highway and Princes Domain Drive intersection about 2.55pm on Wednesday 19 April.
The truck driver was not injured, while the 52 year-old driver of the car was taken to hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
The pregnant passenger’s injuries were considered life-threatening but her condition was stable later that day.
Her baby has non-life threatening injuries.
