Two men injured in chase and mugging

Police would like to speak with anyone who has information relating to the Saturday 11 March armed robbery.

Police are appealing for information after an incident in which two men were assaulted in a street robbery in Beaconsfield earlier this year.
Police said a car load of men chased and attacked two men who were walking beside the Old Princes Highway in the early hours of Saturday 11 March.
The two victims fled on foot to nearby residential units to escape their attackers, but police said they were caught and “viciously assaulted” with a pole, before they were robbed.
Detective Senior Constable Trudy Neylan said the victims suffered extensive injuries and required medical treatment.
“Both victims suffered injuries to their upper torsos and their heads,” she said.
“One also had facial injuries.”
The value of the property stolen from the victims came to a total of about $1400.
Det Sen Con Neylan said the attack appeared to have been random.
A 21-year-old man was arrested by police on Thursday 19 May and remanded in custody.
He is due to reappear in court on Friday 7 August.
Investigations into this incident are still ongoing and police would like to speak with anyone who has information relating to the incident.
