Year 3 Beaconhills College student Peyton Haines is the highest fundraiser of the Heart Foundation’s Jump Rope for Heart campaign.
Jump Rope for Heart raises money for life-saving heart research and education programs.
So far Peyton has raising $2000 to help fight heart disease.
Students at Beaconhills’ Pakenham Campus Junior School are helping raise money for the cause through a series of skipping activities.
So far the students have raised a total of $9500, the third highest amount of any school in Australia.
Peyton said she has lost track of how many skips she has done for the campaign, but she is proud of the donations from her family and friends.
Head of Beaconhills College Junior School Peter Hockey said students had learnt about heart issues, the importance of health and how both are linked directly to their lives and families.
“This program not only helps those in need, but also educates the children about a healthy lifestyle,” Mr Hockey said.
Students will continue to skip and raise money for the campaign until Wednesday 7 June.
