Police are investigating after a cow was shot in Nar Nar Goon.
The incident occurred about 10pm on Saturday 17 June at a Bessie Creek Road property.
The cow did not have to be put down but the bullet remained lodged and was unable to be removed.
Senior Sergeant Nathan Prowd said high powered rifles can cause severe damage.
“Police are in the process of eradicating spot lighting from the area,” he said.
Sen Sgt Prowd said shooters spotlight when hunting pests but that using firearms close to properties is illegal.
