The magic of Harry Potter goes on

Pakenham Library staff got in the swing of 20th Anniversary Harry Potter celebrations with librarian Heidi Kennedy transmogrifying into Divinations Master, Sibyl Trelawny while library officer Alysha Ratten epitomised The Daily Prophet journo, Rita Skeeter.
More than 100 people converged on the library on Monday 26 June to celebrate 20 years since the release of J.K Rowling’s Harry Potter and the Philosopher’s Stone.
Children enjoyed an enchanting evening of everything Hogwarts with magicians and many other activities.
The evening also saw the announcement of Cardinia’s winners for the library’s Harry Potter Writing competition.
The Age 8-12 winner was Madeline Gauci, 11, from Pakenham with her story Hidden.
The runner up was Layla Borthwick, 8, from Koo Wee Rup with her story The Diary of Voldermort.
There was an Honourable Mention for Sebastian Borthwick, 10, from Koo Wee Rup with his story Harry Potter and the Disappearing Water on Quiddich Cup Day.
