This event is for anyone who has ever wondered what to do when being swooped by a magpie or when a blue-tongued lizard suddenly appears or maybe when a possum is found curled up inside the garage roof.
Wildlife Victoria is running a free community event at Bunyip Hall on Saturday 22 July to share lots of cool tips and tricks to help people co-exist better with the wonderful native wildlife.
Teaming up with RACV on a state-wide educational road show, Wildlife Victoria has finally made it to Gippsland.
“Each event is tailored to educate about specific wildlife in the area, so for Bunyip we will be looking at animals such as kangaroos, wombats, magpies and possums,” said Zaylee from Wildlife Victoria.
The event is designed to equip locals with knowledge about the wildlife in their own backyard and what people can do for the native wildlife to bridge the gap between communities and living harmoniously with native creatures.
Speaking at the event will be Jen, a representative from Mange Management group, discussing how to manage mange in wombats and what to do if a mange-affected wombat is spotted.
Also speaking will be local volunteer rescuer Michelle who will share tips about the local wildlife and steps to take if an injured animal is found.
The event is family friendly, and there will be giveaways for the kids.
The event is being held on Saturday 22 July from 2pm to 3.30pm at the Bunyip Hall, Main Road, Bunyip.
To register head over to the Wildlife Victoria website or phone 9445 0310.
