Second arrest after gun drama

Cardinia Crime Investigation Unit detectives have arrested a second man following the intercept of an allegedly stolen vehicle at Pakenham South earlier this month.
Pakenham Police intercepted an orange Ford utility following a crash on Kooweerup-Pakenham Road, Pakenham South about 11.20am on 7 July.
The dramatic arrest, involving an officer pulling his gun and dragging the driver from the vehicle was captured on video and went viral on social media.
A 26-year-old Pakenham man and a 33-year-old woman of no fixed address were arrested at the scene and police allegedly located a loaded firearm inside the ute.
It’s alleged the vehicle was stolen during a burglary of a home on Stoney Creek Road, Beaconsfield on 6 July.
The man was remanded to appear at Dandenong Magistrates’ Court on 31 July charged with burglary, theft and firearms offences.
The woman was bailed to appear at Dandenong Magistrates’ Court on 30 August, charged with theft of motor vehicle.
