Geoscience Australia detected a small earthquake in Pakenham on 17 October.

Pakenham residents may have had a slight disruption to their sleep on 17 October, after an earthquake struck shortly after 11pm.
Geoscience Australia detected a 2.1 magnitude earthquake south-east of Pakenham at 11.04pm.
It was reported to have lasted around 2.6 seconds.
Geoscience Australia said it was unable to calculate the quake’s estimated damage and felt radius because the magnitude was less than 3.0.
The SES said there were no reports of damage, and many Pakenham residents have commented online that they “didn’t feel a thing”.
Others have reported that they heard a rumble, but no tremor.
