A Halloween-enthusiast has turned his front yard into an incredible yet horrifying walk-through haunted house for the fourth consecutive year.

Since last year, Pakenham homeowner Dan Loannou has spent hours on end building props in preparation for his Halloween extravaganza to take place on Thursday 31 October.

Mr Loannou has put a lot of hard work and effort into this project, working on the display from 8am to 11pm every day for the past week.

“I started doing a very large Christmas display but five years ago I decided to put up Halloween decorations and was shocked with the amount of trick-or-treaters I got, so after that I decided to go bigger every year,” Mr Loannou explained.

“I do it because I thoroughly enjoy building my own props, making things and seeing everyone have a great time.

“We might have kids running away screaming but they always come back the following year.”

Last year, Dan’s Haunted House attracted more than 1200 guests and this year’s haunt is expected to be bigger and better than ever before, with live actors and moving props.

“They can always have a great time and a bit of a scare,” he added.

Dan’s Haunted House, located at 1 Victoria Place, will open at 6.30pm and close at 10.30pm.

Entry into the haunted house is free, however donations are kindly appreciated.
