Attending a Christmas carols event within the community is a popular annual tradition for many families.

This year, Cardinia residents are invited to pack a picnic, meet up with friends and family and sing-a-long to carols by candlelight in Pakenham.

With the support of local community groups and businesses, Cardinia Shire Council will present the 2019 Pakenham Carols by Candlelight on Saturday 14 December.

The carols, to be held at Toomuc Recreation Reserve, will see pre-carols entertainment from local artists and primary schools from 6pm with the official program beginning at 8.30pm.

Cardinia Civic Concert Band and its 40-piece ensemble will help set a festive atmosphere throughout the evening.

To top the night off there will be an electrifying fireworks display at approximately 10:15pm.

Santa may even make a guest appearance.

This is an alcohol and smoke-free event.

Food and drink available will be available to purchase onsite with all proceeds going to local community organisations.

Auslan interpreters will be in attendance. No pets; however, assistance dogs are permitted.
