A Pakenham based bus tour operator has been named a finalist in the 2021 Victorian Tourism Awards.
Tour Local operations manager Ray Staindl said the company was thrilled to be in the running for the top gong in the Tour Operator category.
“At the heart we are a family run business,” Ray said.
“We know what we’re doing and we have a passion for it.
“We’re quite happy to have our names up there.”
Ray said lockdown had been hard on the tourism industry, but the time off had allowed the company to improve.
“Since lockdown, we’ve endeavoured to be bigger and better and ready to go as one of the top reputable tour companies,” Ray said.
“It’s given us the time to work on our business through lockdown and implement changes and little tweaks to make the business better.
“The nomination has reaffirm in our minds that what we’re doing is right.”
The 13 year old family business pride themselves on giving people experiences of a lifetime, where they get to have fun along the way.
“We believe every time someone embarks on a tour with us, they are embarking on a journey; every journey with us is an experience; and every experience becomes a memory – we are all about creating lasting memories here at Tour Local,“ Ray said.
The gala ceremony for the Victorian Tourism Awards will be held Thursday 3 February 2022 at the Melbourne Town Hall.
