Tooradin tail wags

TOORADIN, after winning the toss and batting in Premier division, had an opening partnership of 21 against Officer before Matt Walker was dismissed. When Daniel Hunt went it was 2/27, then Callum O’Hare was again solid and helped take the score to 55 when he was dismissed.
At tea the score was 4/81 from 42 overs with Brenton Adams and Ben Mantel still at the crease.
After the break the middle order lost wickets and it was 8/123 in the 58th over. The tail wagged with the mainstay Michael Ralph who ended up on 31 not out in a 36-run partnership with keeper Leigh Fankhauser, who made 25.
The last wicket stand with Ricky Holland yielded 30 runs to reach 189.

Tooradin played second-placed Beaconsfield, which won the toss and elected to bat. It was dismissed for 211 in the 73rd over.
Tooradin took the first wicket at 11 when Mat Finch bowled the opener but Beaconsfield had a 36-run partnership before Chris Brennan took his first wicket.
Three more wickets had Beaconsfield at 5/69 before some good partnerships took the score to 211. Wickets were shared with Chris Brennan taking 4/62, Sean Baker 2/27 and Brendan Jones 2/30.

Beaconsfield batted after winning the toss and on a fast ground made 241. Best bowling figures were Dale Bethune with 2/34, Peter O’Hare 5/69 and Adam Richmond 2/30. Daniel Quinn took a spectacular catch as did Brett Murray in close.
After eight overs, Tooradin was 0/18 overnight.
