Hospital jobs pain

KOOWEERUP Regional Health Service CEO Terrona Ramsay has quashed claims that the hospital has readvertised positions made vacant during the restructuring shake-up of the hospital before Christmas.
A former employee, who did not want to be identified, contacted the Gazette last week and said she was retrenched before Christmas, and the exact same job was advertised by the hospital in January.
“Terrona Ramsay is advertising jobs for a number of people she has retrenched as well as myself,” she said.
But Ms Ramsay said the information given to the Gazette was untrue.
“That is absolutely incorrect,” Ms Ramsay said.
In December Ms Ramsay confirmed the hospital was restructuring and all positions had been declared vacant but could not confirm how many staff would lose their jobs.
She said the timing was unfortunate but the hospital had no choice.
