EMERALD appears to be in a winning position in its B Grade match at Clyde, after dismissing the Cougars for just 113 and reaching 0/32 at stumps.
Rod Smith was again the best of the Emerald bowlers with 3/13 from 13 overs, while Thomas Sinnema batted well for the Cougars to score 35 runs at number six.
Upper Beaconsfield reached 165 from 62.5 overs in its match against Kooweerup at Upper Beaconsfield Recreation Reserve, with Demons’ opening bowler Benjamin Miller returning to form after being dropped from the Premier Division to take 7/34 from 27 overs.
Maroons’ batsman Stuart Black was the best of the home side’s batsmen with 37 runs, while John Kett and Matt Scanlon also batted well in their innings of 32 and 30 respectively.
The match between Merinda Park and Cardinia is evenly poised after the Cobras claimed three late important Cardinia wickets to have the Bulls reeling at 3/47 overnight chasing the visitors’ total of 127.
Jason Fisher was the best of the Cardinia bowlers with 4/30 from 15 overs. There were no statistics available from Merinda Park at the time of writing this report.
PUT reached 192 from 70 overs in its match against Beaconsfield, however, no statistics are available from the Yabbies’ innings.
For the Tigers, Aaron McDermott was the best of the bowlers with 3/34 from 17 overs.

Officer’s Tony Smith hit a brilliant 103 as the Bullants scored 9/282 from 70 overs in a dominant display against Devon Meadows.
Smith smashed 11 boundaries in his terrific innings at number six, while Kevin Quinn backed up his round 10 performance of 195 not out to score 44 runs.
For the Panthers, David Carson bowled six excellent overs to take 5/26.
Tooradin was dismissed for just 119 from 53 overs in its match against Catani, before the Blues slumped to 1/7 overnight from 13 overs.
Catani bowlers Ben Ferrari-Mela (5/32 from 12 overs) and David Spierings (4/28 from 12 overs) were the chief destroyers for the Blues.
Emerald posted a competitive total of 6/193 in its match against Pakenham at Toomuc Reserve, with Bombers’ under-17 batsman Chris Pollard top-scoring with 42 runs.
Lions’ youngster Jarryd Davies was the best of the home side’s bowlers with 3/24 from 11 fine overs.
PUT appears to have the upper hand in its match against Beaconsfield, after the Tigers were dismissed for just 152 from 51.5 overs, before the Yabbies quickly reached 2/74 from 15 overs at stumps.
Beaconsfield wicket-keeper Craig Jennings was the pick of the batsmen with 60 runs, while there are no statistics available from PUT.

Lyndhurst produced a strong batting performance in its match against Pakenham, with the Vikings scoring 9/210 from 70 overs on the back of 45 runs from number eight batsman Greg Hunter.
Both Edward Duiker and Mark Tankard took three wickets for the Lions.
The match between Kooweerup and Cardinia is evenly poised going into day two after Cardinia reached 3/49 at stumps chasing the Demons total of 147.
Bulls’ bowler Matthew Adlam was the stand-out performer throughout the afternoon, taking four wickets.
Nyora will feel confident of achieving victory in its match against Merinda Park after dismissing the Cobras for 151 and reaching 0/20 at stumps from nine overs.
Under-17 bowler Gavin Hackett performed superbly for the Maroons to take 3/16 from 11 overs, while Anthony Clarke remained 23 not out for the Cobras.
There are no details available from Kilcunda/Bass’ innings of 161 from 67.4 overs against Nar Nar Goon/Maryknoll, with Marygoons’ bowler Stephen Minahan taking 3/29 from 10 overs.

Tooradin captain Shane Somers scored a memorable 106 in the Seagulls’ total of 9/271 against Officer, with Somers’ century being his second for the season
Officer’s Tony Whitham bowled sensationally for his side to take 5/57 from 16 overs.
Emerald’s Michael Van Leeuwen hit a fine 80 runs before being run out as the Bombers scored 8/265 from 70 overs in their match against Clyde.
Clyde’s under-15 bowler Jayden Luca was the pick of the Cougars bowlers, defying his age to take 3/29 from 10 overs.
Cranbourne Meadows requires a further 79 runs for victory with seven wickets in hand in its match against Merinda Park, with the Cobras batting first and being dismissed for just 138, before the Rebels reached 3/59 at stumps.
Jeremy Ryan was the best of the Rebels’ bowlers with 3/31 from 14 overs.
Pakenham’s David Searle scored a fine 62 runs at number eight as the Lions scored 164 from 63 overs in their match against PUT.
There were no scores available from the Yabbies at the time of writing this report.

Beaconsfield’s Michael McMahon continued to score massive amounts of runs for the Tigers, this week blasting the PUT attack for 196 as the Tigers scored 5/317 (dec).
McMahon’s innings comes after he has already scored innings of 176 and 91 so far this season, and takes his season tally to 629 at an average of 89.9.
The Yabbies reached 3/38 from 24 overs at stumps.
Gembrook will be on the hunt for outright points in its match at Lang Lang after the Swamp Tigers were dismissed for just 61, before the Brookers reached 5/89 at stumps.
Kidman Johnstone, Alex Bowyer and Elizabeth Bardwell all took three wickets in a sensational display by Gembrook.
Lyndhurst scored 180 from 69.3 overs against Devon Meadows on the back of 68 runs from Martin Davies, while the Panthers’ Joshua Walker was the best of the bowlers with 4/46.
Upper Beaconsfield has its sights on victory in its match against Nar Nar Goon/Maryknoll, with the Marygoons being dismissed for just 108, before the Maroons scored 1/45 in reply.
Shawn Hassall was the best of the Upper Beaconsfield bowlers with three wickets.

PUT proved to be too strong for Cranbourne Meadows, with the Yabbies scoring 7/148 before restricting the Rebels to 8/123 from their 35 overs.
Beaconsfield batsman Brad Eagleton scored a terrific half-century in the Tigers’ victory over Upper Beaconsfield, while Kilcunda/Bass succumbed to the might of Emerald after a half-century from Kevin Stapleton that included six boundaries and three sixes.
Lyndhurst amassed the huge total of 5/263 in its match against Nar Nar Goon/Maryknoll, with Matt Swinkels, Dean Augustus and Paul Firth all reaching the retirement score of 50 runs.
Nyora blasted 245 runs from just 28 overs in its match against Merinda Park after the Cobras earlier scored 7/229, while Devon Meadows’ bowler Glen Fairbrother claimed 3/17 from six overs in the Panthers’ victory over Kooweerup.
SFX proved to be too strong for Officer, scoring 5/233 before restricting the Bullants to 2/176, while Clyde easily won its match against Cardinia after dismissing the Bulls for just 43 runs.
