THE Warragul SES is $3500 better off thanks to the Vietnam Veterans Motorcycle Club.
Using its Longwarry clubhouse, the motorcycle club’s members raised the money during their third annual open day, where more than 140 cars and 80 bikes were on show and 70 people entered a tattoo competition.
The club’s president, affectionately called T-Rat, said the day was a success.
“It was a fantastic day,” he said.
“And we were able to raise $3500 for the local SES, following from our donation of $3500 to the local CFA last year.”
He said the club hoped to continue the open day next year and raise more money for local groups.
The lack of entries in the burn-out competition was a downer, but the only entrant, Blackie, wasn’t fussed as he walked away with $500.
