Cause shows true colours

FIONA Knight will don a colourful hairstyle next week for the World’s Greatest Shave.
The Upper Beaconsfield mother and her extended family are joining the challenge to help raise cash and awareness for the Leukaemia Foundation.
But for this family it’s more than just a good cause.
Their three-year-old nephew, Henry Dewar has been battling leukaemia for more than 14 months.
The team known as Hairless 4 Henry is taking part in the shave for the second year in a row.
Ms Knight will be colouring her hair for the cause and her two sons will be taking the plunge and braving the shave.
She said last year the group raised more than $14,000 and was hoping to do even better this year.
But the team has only raised $370 so far.
Henry’s Uncle, Glen Darcey said the fund-raiser was the one thing the family could do to help young Henry.
“There is not a lot we can do to take away the heartache they go through everyday, but by supporting the foundation we are helping to ensure that they and other children and families get the help and support they so desperately need,” he said.
In 2010, it is expected more than 2480 Victorians will be diagnosed with leukaemia, lymphoma, myeloma or a related blood dis-order or cancer.
The big shave will be held at the Portsea Hotel on Saturday 13 March from noon until 2pm.
