PAKENHAM 2 this week had their dreams realised, when they made the divisional semis their own. Saturday 6th March started at Hampton Bowls Club, with the presentation of the section flag being presented to team manager Keith Lewis.
After the presentation, Pakenham met Carrum 1 in the division 4 quarter final. In howling conditions, and with water rapidly filling the green, Pakenham emerged victors by 37 shots. Rinks as follows: Charlie Allen 30 to 13. Keith Lewis 24 to 12. Lyn Monaghan 27 to 17 and Col Green 24 to 26.
A great win under such trying conditions.
On Sunday 7 March, the team had to front up again, this time to take on Auburn 1, at Heathmont Bowls Club. The first half was a very even game, with only two shots in it at afternoon tea. The second session saw a more determined Pakenham clamp down on their opponents and restrict their scoring abilities. The end result was Pakenham 2 107 to Auburn 1 92. Rinks as follows : Col Green 30 to 18. Lyn Monaghan 17 to 31. Keith Lewis 31 to 21, and Charlie Allen 29 to 22.
The grand final is this week, opposition and venue to be announced by RVBA.
