Pre-season socialising

THE girl with the most bling and the guy with the silliest tie are some of the categories at Sunday’s mini Fashions on the Field in the Cora Lynn Football and Netball Club’s marquee.
The footballers and their “WAGS”, and the club’s netballers will dress to the max for the Devine Communities Pakenham Cup Day.
Cora Lynn Football and Netball Club CEO John Cunningham said around 250 players and their partners, and supporters at the club turn up at the annual marquee event for a “pre-season social get-together.”
“It’s a chance for everyone to come together and enjoy themselves,” he said.
“Next year we’re hoping to attract 300 people to our marquee.”
The Cora Lynn Football and Netball Club marquee is the place to be at the races, says Mr Cunningham.
“The marquee is decked out in our club colours. We have the biggest marquee on the day,” he said.
“And it’s all in-house. The marquee is a club effort as all of the catering is done by our canteen staff,” he said.
Guests in the Cora Lynn Football and Netball Club marquee will be treated to a three-course meal and beer, wine and soft drinks.
Race-goers also have the chance to take home various hampers and vouchers as part of the marquee raffle.
The football and netball club is sponsoring one of the races at the Devine Communities Pakenham Cup Day.
