Wait for pink pokies

CARDINIA Shire council officers are waiting to be advised of when the Pink Hill entertainment centre proposal will be heard at the Victorian Civil and Administrative Tribunal.
The proposal, refused by the council late last year, would see 60 electronic gaming machines brought to 13 May Road, Beaconsfield – something both councillors and local residents are against.
General manager for planning and development Phil Walton said he expected the full hearing to be heard at some time in June, but was not aware of the exact date at this stage.
The Pink Hill proposal is one of many matters currently being heard by VCAT.
This includes the use and development of land for a carwash in Livingstone Boulevard, Pakenham, and development of land for 41 single storey dwellings in Hawk Avenue, Pakenham.
